Ghost Pepper, also known as Bhut Jolokia, is a legendary pepper, known as one of the world's hottest peppers, with readings sometimes in excess of 1,000,000 Scoville units! Ghost Pepper grows slowly at first but eventually makes a vigorous tall plant that can reach 4' in some locations. The thin-walled, wrinkled, pointed fruit are 3 to 3-1/2" in length. This strain may result in a range of fruit colors, including red, peach, and yellow. Note: This pepper is extremely hot! Handle seed and fruit carefully!
The versatile Ghost Pepper can be the main ingredient in hot sauce, salsa, chutney, and jam. This pepper's claim to fame is the intense burning sensation it causes in your mouth, which can last up to 30 minutes. Luckily, while this pepper is hot, the heat will wear off and not leave any lasting damage. When handling Ghost Peppers, exercise caution and wear hand, eye and breathing protection.
