- Furrow Depth: 8–10" deep (8" recommended in heavy clay soils).
- Watering: Maintain consistent moisture during establishment; lighter soils may require more frequent watering.

- Pre-plant: 5 lbs of 10-10-10 per 100 sq ft.
- Year 1: Apply 1 lb of 10-10-10 per 100 sq ft in August.
- Subsequent years: 2 lbs of 10-10-10 per 100 sq ft in early spring and after harvest.
