Planting & Care Instructions

  1. Soak bare roots in water for 30–60 minutes before planting to encourage healthy root development.
  2. Choose a sunny location with 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily.
  3. Prepare well-draining soil (pH 5.5–6.5) enriched with compost or organic matter.
  4. Plant crowns at soil level, spreading roots outward and avoiding crown burial.
  5. Space plants 12–18 inches apart with 3–4 feet between rows for airflow.
  6. Water regularly to keep soil moist but not soggy; water early mornings to reduce disease risk.
  7. Remove flowers the first year to promote strong root and foliage growth.
  8. Expect large, sweet harvests beginning in the second growing season and recurring annually.
