Planting Instructions:

Spacing: For privacy screens or hedges, plant your Oakland Holly 5-10 feet apart, depending on how dense you want the screen to be. If planting as a specimen tree, give it space to grow to its full size, allowing for both height and width.
Planting Hole: Dig a hole that’s about twice the size of the root ball but no deeper. Gently remove the tree from its container, taking care not to damage the roots. Place the tree in the hole and ensure that the top of the root ball is level with the surrounding soil. Backfill with soil and tamp down gently to remove air pockets.
Watering: Water the tree thoroughly after planting. Keep the soil consistently moist during the first growing season, especially during dry periods, to help the tree establish strong roots. Once established, Oakland Holly is somewhat drought-tolerant, though regular watering during prolonged dry spells will keep it looking its best.
