Founded in 2006, we began as an online plant shop and have grown into a thriving 23-acre nursery right here in Benson. Our team is dedicated to helping home gardeners, landscapers, and plant lovers find high-quality plants at affordable prices.

Stroll Our Nature Trail
Take a peaceful walk or refreshing workout along our half-mile nature trail on our 23-acre nursery property in Benson, North Carolina.
The trail is lined with blueberry and strawberry plants, flowering perennials, and shaded resting spots. Families love exploring, picking seasonal produce, and taking in the natural beauty. Pick Your Own Blooms
Experience the joy of picking your own flowers during our seasonal flower harvests. Since launching in Spring 2024, our flower picking farm has become one of our most popular attractions, spanning nearly an acre of vibrant blooms.
Our spring season (March 7 – April 15) features tulips, hyacinths, and daffodils. In summer, our fields burst with sunflowers, dahlias, gladiolus, calla lilies, and peonies. Perfect for photos, bouquets, and unforgettable memories.

At Hand Picked Nursery, we host a variety of outdoor and indoor events, including garden workshops, local markets, and private celebrations.

Playtime at the Dog Park
Bring your furry friends for a fun day at our on-site dog park. We offer separate play areas for small and large dogs, giving every pup space to run, play, and explore safely under the trees. It’s the perfect way to make Hand Picked Nursery an outing the whole family can enjoy (even your furry friends!).
Clean & Accessible Restrooms
We’ve expanded our facilities to include four clean restrooms, including a wheelchair-accessible unit, so every visitor can feel comfortable. Conveniently located near the main garden center and trail entrance, they make exploring our property easier for everyone.
Grab a Bite
Our bright red Hand Picked Nursery Food Truck serves up locally inspired favorites — from small bites and desserts to freshly brewed coffee, lattes, and gelato made with North Carolina-sourced ingredients.
We’re currently open for special events, but we plan to expand soon so you can enjoy delicious treats anytime you visit.
